Todd County Central High School Alumni Spotlight: Ephraim Petrie

Ephraim Petrie III is a 1976 graduate of Todd County Central High School.

Petrie took on the tackle position for Todd Central’s 1975-1976 football team and played under the instruction of Coach James Jackson, one of the most popular football coaches for the school. Teammates of Petrie’s included Charles Graham, Paul Harrell, Carl Watson Ricchuite, Joe Wheeler, Tom Combs, Ford Cowherd, Michael Osborne, Hank Malone and Wayne Williams. Many recall the 1970s as some of the best years for the football program in Todd Central’s history.

Those who know Petrie will share his Facebook posts, often featuring his encouragement of others and faith in God. One recent post reads, “Life’s taught me that pain is temporary, but the lessons it brings stick around forever. Tough times may come and go, but the wisdom we gain from them stays for good.”

Petrie is a Todd County native and makes his home in Elkton. In earlier years, he worked as a package handler for FedEx Ground and previously lived in Indianapolis, Indiana.
