Election officials in Todd County are readying for the final stretch of the May primary election cycle as no-excuse early voting begins Thursday at the local courthouse. The three-day early voting window provides a final opportunity for registered voters to cast their ballots ahead of the official election day on Tuesday.
Starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday, any registered voter in the county may participate in early voting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Unlike the “excuse-only” absentee period that concluded on Wednesday, this current phase is open to all eligible residents, regardless of whether they can reach the polls on Tuesday. This early voting session is hosted centrally at the Todd County
Courthouse on East Washington Street.
The primary election concludes Tuesday with polls open across the county from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Under Kentucky law, voters must report to the specific polling location designated for their residential address on election day. Officials remind the public that valid photo identification is required for all residents seeking to participate in the democratic process.
Eligibility for the primary is limited to residents who successfully registered as a Democrat or Republican by April 20th. While the online portal for requesting mail-in ballots has closed, those currently in possession of an absentee ballot must ensure it is returned via mail or placed in the official drop box at the Todd County Clerk’s Office before the polls close Tuesday evening.
Residents with questions regarding their registration status or polling locations are encouraged to contact the Todd County Clerk’s Office at 270-265-9966.
WEKT will provide live coverage of election results on Tuesday night, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Find the 2026 Todd County Primary Election ballot by clicking here.
