Several people were indicted by the Todd County Grand Jury during its May session on Wednesday, with charges ranging from felony theft to persistent felony offender.
Lexus Bussell (also known as Abby Bussell), of Elkton, was indicted on an alternate count of first-degree theft by deception (more than $1,000 but less than $10,000). The charge stems from incidents allegedly occurring between October and November 2025 involving Dollar General.
Barbara Weatherford, of Elkton, was charged with complicity to theft by deception (over $1,000 but under $10,000). She is accused of conspiring with Lexus Bussell to obtain property from Dollar General between October 20th and November 14th, 2025.
James Edward Doss, III, of Gracey, faces multiple charges, including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and being a persistent felony offender. Other charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana possession, and various traffic violations, such as failure to use a turn signal. His bail was set at $15,000 cash. The charges stem from an early April traffic stop on Springmont Circle in Guthrie. Officers reportedly initiated the stop after observing an unlit license plate and a failure to use a turn signal.
Barry Wayne Hardison, of Sharon Grove, was indicted on two counts of first-degree criminal mischief for allegedly damaging vehicles belonging to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and a citizen. He was also charged with third-degree escape for allegedly fleeing the custody of a deputy in August 2025. His bail was set at $30,000.
Arraignments for every person mentioned will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in Todd County Circuit Court.
