As it warms up outside, many people may be thinking of starting home renovation and DIY projects.
Atmos Energy reminds Todd Countians to call 8-1-1, the national “Call Before You Dig” hotlne, before beginning any digging project outside.
By calling 8-1-1 at least three business days before digging, the call center will coordinate with Atmos Energy and other utility companies in the area to mark underground pipes and cables with color-coded flags.
Atmos asks to respect the flags, and the law, by not digging close to them. This prevents dangerous utility hits, potential service outages and fines.
