The Todd County 4-H Livestock Club has won the Kentucky State Fair’s Herdsman Award for the second year in a row.
4-H Agent Lee Ann McCuiston says the Herdsman Award recognizes youth exhibitors and 4-H clubs who demonstrate excellence in a variety of livestock areas, including animal care, exhibit area, sportsmanship, teamwork and responsibility.
Todd County students also had the opportunity to participate in the 4-H and FFA Championship Drive last week, which McCuiston says is a very prestigious competition. The event brought together the top student champions from various livestock animals, including four Todd County 4-H students who got to show their sheep at the state fair’s Broadbent Arena.
McCuiston says Todd County 4-H is so proud of the Guier family and Meredith Hampton/Billy Carter’s team for their remarkable accomplishment and amazing year in the ring.
