Todd County 4-H is still seeking $5,900 in scholarship funds to reach its $15,000 goal by May 30.
It costs $340 to send one student to West Kentucky 4-H Camp for a week, which the organization notes is not doable for many of its local families. Todd County was able to send 142 students to 4-H camp last summer, with around half that number receiving scholarships and financial assistance.
To send the same amount this year, it will cost $49,300.
Todd County 4-H is asking for the community’s help to reach their goal and will accept any donation amount, whether a few dollars or the entire fee. The organization says the camp is a wonderful opportunity for students, offering valuable life lessons, memories that last a lifetime and a phone-free zone for the campers throughout the five-day camp.
This year’s 4-H camp will be held from July 14-18 in Dawson Springs. Donations can be brought to the Extension Office, mailed to:
