Libby Sims Lancaster is a 1974 graduate of Todd County Central High School.
She values most from her time in high school the solid grounding in all areas she received from her four years at Todd Central. Even without a college degree, Lancaster says she was able to function in a technically demanding field thanks to Todd Central’s education.
After graduating high school, she attended Christian County Area Vocational School and Hopkinsville Community College. For over three decades, she has served as a Certified Water Treatment Plant Operator/Water Quality Specialist for Hopkinsville Water Environment.
Lancaster advises current Todd Central students to take the harder courses in school in order to stretch their minds. She adds it’s important to teach students to think outside the box and think critically.
As for her memories of Todd Central, Lancaster says she will always treasure singing Handel’s Messiah in George Mills’ class and says she can still sing the Hallelujah Chorus almost by heart.
