TCPL Warren Scholar Writing Competition
March 3 - April 16

The Todd County Public Library and the Robert Penn Warren Birthplace Committee are hosting the 2026 “Tell Me a Story” Warren Scholar Writing Competition. This contest invites K-12 students in Todd County to submit original short stories or poems between March 3rd and April 16th. Based on the theme “The Past in the Present,” participants can choose from three prompts inspired by the work of Robert Penn Warren to explore how history and moral choices influence modern life.
Prizes for the competition include:
- First Place: A $200 award, publication in the local newspaper and school literary magazine, and recognition as a “Warren Scholar” on the TCPL annual plaque.
- Second Place: A $100 award.
- Third Place: A $50 award.
