About Historic Todd County, Inc.
Since its initial establishment, Historic Todd County, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, has had as its mission the preservation of Todd County’s unique heritage and historic sites. That preservation effort has as its primary goals “to preserve and restore, educate and inform, and commemorate and promote.” In recent years, the impetus of HTC has centered on the rehabilitation of the 1835 Historic Todd County Courthouse, the oldest courthouse in western Kentucky.
The Courthouse, which bears the year 1835 on its façade, continues to be what some have called Todd County’s “Statue of Liberty.” Currently, the site of the Todd County Welcome Center and the Todd County Chamber of Commerce, the beloved edifice serves as a testament to the resilience of Todd Countians and the love Todd Countians, both those who live here and those scattered around the nation and world, have for Todd County.
