The grant project on Goebel Avenue in Elkton is finally wrapping up.
Mayor Arthur Green told Your WEKT News Edge some minor tweaks need to be made before the project is completed.
The funding from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – Transportation Alternatives Program was announced in the summer of 2019 and equated to $388,000 for the Goebel Avenue bike and pedestrian project for a new bike lane and sidewalk to connect the existing system.
Green added there are other ongoing TAP grant projects in Elkton city limits.
In addition to those projects, Green said work on a turning lane for Todd County Middle School is underway.
The work began after a $100,000 grant was awarded in 2021 for the design phase.
