She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Eugene Keeton, and leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Karen & CD Palmer of Madisonville, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Jan Keeton & Alan McDonald of Seattle, WA; granddaughters Kelly Hearn (John), Courtney Williams (Mark) & Caroline McDonald; and seven great-grandchildren (Daniel, Lucy, Phoebe, & Lottie Hearn; Samara, Ezra, & Orion Williams). She is also survived by brothers Gene Dunnington (Marty) and Coy Dunnington (Judy) as well as her nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born on August 10, 1927, in Monticello, KY to the late Lloyd and Leona Dunnington. She was the oldest of their five children, and these close family relationships were important to her throughout her life. As a young married couple, Evelyn and Eugene moved to Todd County, KY where they farmed with Eugene’s father and brother for decades, and where they raised their daughters, Karen & Jan. Evelyn was a hardworking and devoted wife & mother, a loving grandmother, a loyal & generous friend. She was an active member of Elkton Baptist Church and a founding member of Town & Country Club of Todd County. Together she and Eugene enjoyed their family, friendships, and travel. In their later years they moved to Clarksville, TN where their circle of friends expanded even more to include the members of their Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Clarksville. Upon Eugene’s death and her move to Madisonville, KY, Evelyn continued to forge warm friendships among her neighbors at the Paragon of Madisonville. An avid painter of landscapes, birds, & flowers, she shared countless paintings with those who were fortunate to know her. She always had a positive attitude and was generous with hugs, laughter, kind words, phone calls, cards, and thoughtful gifts. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at a later date. Latham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rock of Ages Ministries, Cleveland, TN c/o Robert & Debbie Keeton. Please place in the memo line: Robert Keeton Account 77
