Primary elections are coming up Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and Todd County’s ballot has been announced for local and state government positions.
Under Kentucky law, sample ballots have been published in advance to give residents a preview of what voters will see on voting machines and paper ballots across the county.
Todd County Republican and Democratic voters will see different candidate lists, though the United States Senate and House of Representative races at the top of both party ballots apply across all Todd County precincts.
Todd County Republicans will face a lengthy, crowded primary ballot when they head to the polls in May. One of the most crowded contests on the primary ballot this year is the Republican U.S. Senate ticket, with more than ten candidates.
Democratic voters will also see multiple candidates competing for their party’s nomination, though the field is a little smaller.
Several local offices will be decided in the May election, mainly on the Republican ballot. This includes County Judge/Executive, Sheriff and Jailer.
Magistrate races are both party and precinct-specific.
The Second Magisterial District vote applies only to Republican voters in Sharon Grove, Clifty, Elkton #2 and Kirkmansville.
The Fourth Magisterial District vote applies only to Democratic voters in Allensville and Elkton #4.
There are a few ways voters can confirm which of Elkton’s precincts they live in. The information is listed on their Kentucky voter registration card, or can be found via the state’s online voter portal or by contacting the County Clerk’s office.
