Current council member Zollie Rose is laying out his priorities for Guthrie Mayor, pledging a campaign focused on infrastructure, economic growth, and community unity.

Rose, who has served on Guthrie’s code enforcement board and events committee, says his candidacy is rooted in a “build it up” philosophy aimed at securing a brighter future for all residents.

His platform prioritizes resolving long-standing drainage and flooding issues, establishing fiscal responsibility, and modernizing the town’s infrastructure. Rose also intends to strengthen the local economy by supporting existing businesses while attracting new investment. Beyond local governance, he has expressed a commitment to advocating for Guthrie at both the state and federal levels—including Washington, D.C.—to secure critical resources and funding.

“I want to serve as a Mayor who listens to everyone,” Rose stated, emphasizing a collaborative approach involving farmers, teachers, and local families. He concluded his announcement by calling for a government that honors Guthrie’s history while embracing future growth “by the people, for the people.”

Rose filed to run for Guthrie Mayor in January, while Scott Marshall filed this week to run for the seat.
