An Elkton woman was charged with attempted theft on North Elm Street in Hopkinsville on Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 28-year-old Jessi Tisdale was trying to take a vehicle in a parking lot and using a knife to get into it when confronted by the owner and law enforcement.
She had reportedly told the owner she was taking the vehicle before attempting to do so. Police say the title showed the new owner indicating it was no longer Tisdale’s property.
Tisdale was arrested and charged with attempted theft by unlawful taking, and was arrested on a warrant for being a fugitive from another state.
