Latest message from Todd County Emergency Management Director Ash Groves:

Todd County Judge/Executive Todd Mansfield today announced that the County State of Emergency declared in response to Winter Storm Fern is officially lifted effective at 3:00 PM on February 6, 2026.

After careful monitoring of weather conditions, road conditions, and essential services, local officials have determined that the county has sufficiently returned to normal patterns of life. Critical infrastructure, roadways, utilities, and emergency services are now operating routinely, and no extraordinary public safety risks remain that require continued emergency authority.

Key criteria for lifting the emergency declaration include:

  • Restoration of reliable power and water services to the majority of residents
  • Decreased travel hazards and improved road conditions
  • Events resuming for schools, businesses, and public services
  • Emergency response and public safety resources returned to standard readiness

Residents are reminded that while the State of Emergency has been lifted, winter conditions and residual impacts may persist. Citizens should continue to exercise caution while traveling and follow any remaining advisories from local and state authorities.

“We appreciate the cooperation and patience of Todd County residents during this challenging weather event,” said Todd County Emergency Manager Ash Groves. “Thanks to the hard work of our road crews, emergency responders, and utility partners, conditions have safely returned to normal, allowing us to lift the State of Emergency.”
