A Guthrie man was charged with assaulting a police officer while being arrested on a warrant on Green Acres Circle on Wednesday night.
Guthrie Police say they went to the home of 60-year-old Keith Torrence to serve him an indictment warrant, and he resisted arrest by pushing the officer down, taking his baton, leading to a physical altercation between the two.
He reportedly dropped the baton and raised his hands when the officer pulled his taser. The officer and Torrence were checked out by Todd County EMS due to the altercation.
According to the Todd County Jail, Torrence is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental operations, second-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree escape, third-degree assault of a police officer, disarming a peace officer, and first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
