Latest message from Todd County Emergency Management Director Ash Groves:
Todd County Emergency Management continues to expand warming and respite options for residents impacted by power outages and extreme cold conditions.
The Elkton Senior Center will open as a warming and respite center. Due to its proximity to the Elkton Fire Department, an on-call Elkton Fire Department crew will be positioned at the facility to maintain immediate response capability for fire and emergency calls while the center is in operation.
The following locations are currently open or opening as warming and respite centers:
- Old Trenton Schoolhouse Cafeteria
- Guthrie Fire Department
- Allensville Fire Department
- Guthrie Baptist Church
- Elkton Senior Center
These facilities are operating as centers of respite. At this time, no food will be prepared or provided. However, residents may use these locations to get warm and charge personal devices, including cell phones.
Residents who do not have transportation, or whose vehicles are not suitable for current road conditions, are asked to contact the Todd County Non-Emergency Dispatch numbers to request transportation assistance:
270-265-2501 or 270-265-2502
Please do NOT call 911 for transportation requests, as emergency lines must remain available for life-threatening situations.
Todd County Emergency Management will continue to assess conditions across the county. Additional warming or respite centers may be opened, and the community will be notified as more locations become available.
Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors, family members, and friends—especially those who are elderly, medically vulnerable, or without power.
For official updates, continue to monitor WEKT Radio and the Todd County Emergency Management Facebook page.
