Within a single week, the Todd County community rallied to donate numerous heaters for local families this winter.
By the end of WEKT’s Wednesday morning broadcast at Haley Hardware and Rentals, the tally hit 57 heaters—with more donations pouring in and additional units already on order.
Todd County Community Service Coordinator Misty Owen told Your WEKT News Edge that while her waiting list currently stands at 21 people, new requests for help arrive every day.
In recent weeks, Owen has been busy processing applications for the annual LIHEAP program.
