The Todd County Extension Office is jumping right into the new year with a wide variety of Family and Consumer Science programs happening in the first full week of 2026.
Extension Agent Jill Harris says she’s excited for the new year as the office’s staff and volunteers have planned some great learning opportunities for families, adults and youth.
January opportunities begin Monday, Jan. 5 with “Meals for One or Two,” partnering with Harris’ nutrition education program for an adult cooking class designed for those who cook primarily single meals or for themselves and a partner.
This class will be offered twice that day, with one at 10:30 a.m. and another at 5:30 p.m.
Classes continue with “Yoga-ta Try This” Tuesday, Jan. 6, an introductory yoga class for adults which explains what the practice is and why someone might be interested.
The class will be held at 10 a.m. with a Zoom option at noon. The lesson will be followed with an optional seven-minute chair yoga routine.
The Extension Office is also offering something for the brain, a six-session series called “Wits Workout.” The series will begin Friday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. and run every Friday.
Stay tuned for even more events the extension office has planned for later in January.
