Mrs. Joyce Carlene Monroe, age 82 of Clifty, passed away at 4:37 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her residence.
Services will be on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Skipworth officiating—burial to follow in Heltsley Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be at Latham Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Carlene was born April 30, 1943, in Gibson City, Illinois. She retired from Rockwell/BTR after over 43 years of service. She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Noah Ike Slaughter and Sylvia Lorine Blake; her husband, Wendell Boone Monroe; two great-grandchildren, Conner and Kinley McGehee; her brother, Gary Slaughter; and her sister, Cheryl Nichols. She loved to travel, shop, and be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Wendell Monroe, and his wife, Lisa of Russellville; her son Marty Monroe of Russellville, her daughter Gayla Monroe Mansfield and her husband Alan of Clifty, her brother Garth Noah Slaughter of Russellville, her five grandchildren, Lindsay McGehee, Lance Mansfield, Preston Monroe, Taylor Pourjavad, Brett Carver, and 11 great-grandchildren.
