The Tennessee Valley Authority is partnering with area power companies and non-profits to distribute hams for the holiday season.
A distribution is scheduled for Thursday in Elkton, with TVA’s Jana Sublett sharing that this is a recent idea.
In partnership with Pennyrile Electric and Todd County Interfaith, TVA will distribute hams at no charge to Pennyrile Electric members on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 (or while supplies last) at Todd County Interfaith at 602 South Streets Avenue in Elkton.
Officials said you must present a Pennyrile Electric bill and an ID with a matching address to receive a ham, and members who live in any county in the Pennyrile service territory are eligible to receive a ham.
Hopkinsville’s event was held on Tuesday afternoon, and over half the hams were distributed in the first 30 minutes.
TVA is distributing 3,814 hams to Kentucky families this holiday season.
