A strong thunderstorm hit southern Todd County early Saturday morning, causing some infrastructure and property damage, Emergency Management Director Ash Groves confirmed.
Despite the widespread damage, there were no reports of deaths or injuries.
“We’ve had 10 total electrical poles snapped, several tree tops snapped, one center pivot irrigation line flipped, and one shed destroyed,” Groves stated.
He added that the good news is: “no homes destroyed or families displaced.”
Cleanup efforts are underway, with Pennyrile Electric spending Saturday morning restoring power to the nearly 600 residents affected.
