Larry Shelton, 78, of Elkton

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. Larry Shelton.

Mr. Larry Shelton, age 78 of Elkton, passed away on Friday, October 24th at his home.

Larry was born October 6, 1947, in Greenville, Kentucky son of the late Brank Shelton and Ozie Weatherford Shelton.

He was a father of 8 children and 4 stepchildren. He worked hard his entire life. He operated heavy equipment, farmed and drove a truck for years. His hobbies were basketball and baseball which he loved to play, and he played many of those games with his kids and cousins but as he aged, he loved to play checkers, rummy, wild nine and poker. He loved his family dearly. Even though Alzheimer and Dementia had taken over his last few years he never forgot his children, and they will never forget him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Shelton; a son, James Shelton; a daughter, Angela Shelton; a brother Randal Shelton and a sister, Judith Bivins.

He is survived by three sons, Scott Shelton (Beth) of Elkton, Larry Keith Shelton (Cindy) of Crofton and Ethan Barber (Bee) of Dunmor; three daughters, Teresa Cannon, Stacie Shelton and Patricia Shelton all of Elkton; two stepsons, Terry Lear (Debbie) of Elkton and George Meece (Michelle) of Carrollton, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Mable Meece of Carrollton, Kentucky and Tina Terpening (Mort) of Hopkinsville; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 8th at 2:00 at Ma’s Kitchen, 3022 Ft. Campbell Blvd., Hopkinsville.
