An Elkton man was charged with assaulting a woman on Miller Valley Road in Todd County on Friday morning.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say 63-year-old Douglas Stokes choked the woman, forced her to drink alcohol, and struck her in the face.
Stokes was not located on the day of the assault but was found on Friday and arrested on a warrant charging him with third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree strangulation, and two counts of second-degree assault.
Deputies say Stokes claims the woman’s injuries are from their large dog jumping on her.
