Mr. Ernest O’dell Wilkins Sr., age 95 of Russellville and formerly of Todd County, passed away 1:51 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. Services for Mr. Ernest will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Bro. Ethan Eadens and Mr. Lenny Conyea officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery in Russellville, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Latham Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time for the service.
Mr. Ernest was born May 10, 1930, in Todd County, KY. He was retired from Koppers in Guthrie, KY after 43 ½ years of service. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ in Todd County for over 80 years. Mr. Ernest enjoyed metal detecting and working on watches and clocks. He loved his dog, Holly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrison Pete and Cora Bell Hightower Wilkins, his daughter, Sherry Cole in 2004 and also several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, JoAnne Wilkins of Russellville, his son, Ernest “Ernie” Wilkins Jr. of Russellville, 6 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family asks that donations be given to the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.
