The Todd County Women’s Club Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon will be held Saturday, Oct. 25 beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Katina Shanklin, the keynote speaker for the first luncheon four years ago, says the event is to spread awareness for breast cancer yet create a joyful experience for survivors and community members.

The keynote speaker for this year’s event, Samantha Boley, will share her survivor story of healing and hope. Additional guest speakers include health professionals from the area, including speeches by Carra Gorrel on breast cancer awareness, Margaret Snorton on stress management, Leslie Rager on home healthcare after surgery and Todd County Health Department Director Brooke Cavalry on the health department’s benefits and resources.

The event-turned-tradition, started by Sheryl Shanklin, was founded after she felt called to create a gathering for women to share resources and awareness on breast cancer.
