It was a night of reflection and gratitude in Todd County as Superintendent Mark Thomas attended his final school board meeting before retiring from education.
The Todd County Board of Education bid farewell to Superintendent Mark Thomas during this month’s meeting.
Thomas says that the desire to make a difference is what first led him into the classroom as a teacher and coach. From there, his journey continued through administration and eventually to the top position in the district.
After working in multiple roles across different districts, Thomas found what he was looking for in Todd County. He said it just felt right.
Now, after five years leading Todd County Schools, he’s stepping away — not because he’s finished making an impact, but because he’s shifting that focus.
Thomas says he’s grateful for the love and support he and his wife have felt from the entire community.
Superintendent Mark Thomas officially retires at the end of this month.
