Two local donors donated a grain entrapment rescue system to Trenton Fire Department to help in local rescues.

Trenton Fire Department Chief John Stahl says the donors who wanted to remain anonymous gave the department the device that includes a 4 panel cage, a portable auger for safe grain removal, and the required power tools needed.

Firefighters trained on the equipment this week Stahl says giving them some hands on experience that will be quite valuable when quick action is required.

Stahl says given the extensive presence of hazards related to agriculture, having a resource locally that helps mitigate emergency situations like this is priceless. He added It is the only all-inclusive system of its kind in Todd County.

The department wants to train alongside other departments and make the equipment available for use county-wide if an emergency event occurs.

Stahl says the department is very thankful for this equipment and the donors that made it available to them and the county.
