A traffic stop on Butler Road in Todd County led to drug charges for an Elkton man and woman Thursday night.
Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Bauman says he stopped a vehicle driven by 73-year-old Jimmy Brumfield, and during the stop found him to be under the influence of some kind of substance.
Detectives with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force were called to help with the investigation, and a large quantity of suspected meth, marijuana, a revolver, and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found in his home and some in his vehicle.
Jimmy Brumfield and 73-year-old Naomi Brumfield who was at their home, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking meth. Jimmy Brumfield was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
