The Paducah National Weather Service is closely following the evolution of Hurricane Helene, which is expected to impact the region Friday and into the weekend.
Senior Meteorologist Derrick Snyder said the storm will make landfall as a major hurricane.
Snyder added that above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall have marked the late summer and early fall seasons.
Snyder encourages everyone to stay tuned for further updates on the NWS Paducah website.
The expected impacts have caused the postponement of Elkton’s Harvest Fest. The event will take over the downtown square on Saturday, October 5th.
Additionally, Todd County Central’s homecoming football game against Russellville will now be Thursday night at 7:00.
