Ask a teacher for suggestions, and the person asking will undoubtedly receive those suggestions for whatever is being sought.
These are suggestions CLW provided to the youth at West Side this past Monday morning at a Back-to-School Breakfast held for the youth of West Side. Obviously, many other suggestions could be provided; however, these are ones that CLW ‘mulled over’ as reminders to the young ones heading back to school! Each suggestion is followed with a Bible verse.
… Remain strong in prayer and in study of God’s Word daily.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
… Always strive to do your best, even when tasks are difficult!
“Whatever work you do, do your best … ” Ecclesiastes 9:10
… Treat everyone with respect!
“Show proper respect to everyone … ” 1 Peter 2:17
… Remember teachers have ‘bad days’ too!
“When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other.” Ecclesiastes 7:14
… Choose friends wisely; those friendships will more than likely last a lifetime!
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
… If you notice someone being bullied, let an adult know!
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” 1 John 3:15
… Remember you start each class with an A!
“Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.” Timothy 6:11
… Show others God’s love and speak kindly to everyone!
“Kind words are like honey — sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” Proverbs 16:24
… If you have trouble understanding a concept, ask the teacher for more explanation or more help to understand.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you …” Matthew 7:7
… Remember teachers were once students too!
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
… Have fun! We all enjoy laughter!
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22
… Try to be friends with that person who may need a friend!
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31
… Be prepared! Plan your next day the night before and have everything ready!
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
… Complete assignments daily! Finish them before you enjoy ‘free’ time!
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7
… Avoid ‘following the crowd!’
“Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’” 1 Corinthians 15:33
… Remember we are God’s representatives in everything we do!
“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.” Ephesians 5:1
