Mrs. Joyce P. Mayes, age 91 of Elkton, passed away at 3:20 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Christian Health in Hopkinsville, KY. Services will be Friday, May 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Jeff Dematties officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton, Ky. Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Mayes was born on January 26, 1933, in Todd County. She was a retired coordinator for Pennyrile Allied Community Services. Mrs. Mayes was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy H. Blaylock and Inez Denny Blaylock, and her husband Virges A. Mayes in 2014.
She is survived by her son Roger Mayes and his wife Donna of Elkton, KY, her sister Mary Griffith of Nashville, TN, her grandchildren Jaclyn Guier and her husband Chris of Pembroke, KY and Patrick Mayes and his wife Sarah of Elkton, her great-grandchildren Jackson and Caden Guier and Ava and Samuel Mayes.
