Dove hunting season began Tuesday, September 1 in Kentucky, and hunters should be aware of accidentally damaging fiber optics through this fall and winter.
Last year, HES Energynet reported over 500 people without service after fiber lines were accidentally damaged during hunting season.
Energynet encourages people to be aware of nearby fiber infrastructure and utility poles while in the field in order to help prevent outages and keep the community connected.
The organization wishes everyone a safe and successful dove season.
