Todd County Central High School Beta Club traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, for their National Beta Convention on June 17-20, where 25 students represented Todd County. Students advanced to the national level through regional competitions and state competitions. All competitions needed creativity, leadership, and teamwork against top Beta members from across the nation. Students also demonstrated academic success by placing at the state level, which means they can qualify for national testing.

In the Visual Arts competition, Annabella Tobar will represent Kentucky in Division I Painting. The club will also compete in several national team events that highlight collaboration, creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.
Meeting of the Minds
Meeting of the Minds challenges students to work collaboratively while engaging in abstract reasoning, problem-solving, and higher-level thinking skills.

Reimagine, Recreate, Recycle
This national exhibition challenges students to create an iconic representation of Tennessee using only recyclable materials. Teams must also complete an on-site enhancement challenge.

Beta Blitz allows students to showcase their creativity by designing merchandise such as T-shirts, trading pins, and promotional items that celebrate the spirit of Beta.

All the World’s a Stage
Students transformed a popular children’s book into a Beta-themed performance. The team rewrote a Fancy Nancy story in which Fancy Nancy strives to become a member of the Beta Club.

Project Proposal
At the National Beta Leadership Summit, students proposed a partnership with Green River Academy. The Academy focused on preserving the historic site through cleanup efforts and support of the annual “Shadows” event. The proposal earned state recognition and was showcased at the national level.

Book Battle
Book Battle is one of the most rigorous academic competitions in Beta. Teams are assigned a list of twelve books and compete by answering detailed questions about the readings. The TCCHS team earned 5th Place in Kentucky and competed nationally.
