A man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement in several counties on Tuesday afternoon.
Logan County Sheriff’s deputies say a pursuit with a motorcycle driven by Joseph Dale Brignac started in Greenbrier, Tennessee, crossed into Robertson County, Tennessee, Logan County, then Todd County before going back into Tennessee, and the pursuit was terminated.
Later in the same day, a Drug Task Force agent reportedly observed Brignac parked on the sidewalk near the intersection of South Main Street and 9th Street in Russellville, and he attempted to flee but was tased multiple times while trying to reach for a revolver.
A 9 mm handgun was also reportedly found in his backpack after he was taken into custody.
Deputies say he told them he was attempting to retrieve the firearm to encourage officers to use deadly force on him.
He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, resisting arrest, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
