An Elkton man was charged after a report that he was threatening his mother with a knife on Stokes Chapel Road in Todd County on Monday night.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say 30-year-old Shane Spurlin threatened his mother with a knife, fled from law enforcement on foot when they arrived, then started yelling, cussing, and kicked a deputy and an Elkton Police officer.

He was arrested and charged with violation of a Kentucky domestic violence order, resisting arrest, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental operations, public intoxication, and two counts of third-degree assault of a police officer.
