The City of Guthrie has some exciting events planned throughout the rest of this year.
Next up on the calendar is Guthrie’s Juneteenth celebration, which will take place earlier in the week on Saturday, June 13, and run all afternoon and evening.
Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 will be the city’s Fourth of July celebration. Friday evening will be a field-to-fork fundraiser dinner. Deputy Clerk Connie Wofford says the dinner will raise money for the food pantry and Joe Moore fund, which helps individuals pay their utility bills.
Saturday will be an all-day affair for the nation’s birthday, with music, games, a comedy performance, a raffle drawing for a gun and fireworks.
Then, it’s time for Guthrie’s Heritage Days Festival Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19. Currently, the city is seeking vendors for the festival, as well as items for the silent auction. Wofford says funds raised by the silent auction go toward scholarships for Todd County youth.
October will bring a new event to Guthrie – the city’s first breast cancer awareness walk. More information about this event will be available soon.
Guthrie’s Spooktacular will be held the afternoon of Halloween, November 8 is Guthrie’s Hero’s Day Celebration, and December 4 and 5 is the city’s annual Christmas celebration, featuring its open house, tree lighting and parade over the course of that Friday and Saturday.
