Springtime brings the start of a very busy 4-H season for Todd County.
4-H Extension agent Lee Ann McCuiston says the organization recently presented speeches and demonstrations in a Talk Meet, and eighth graders participated in a Reality Store, a rural life-career experience where students worked with business professionals to understand the cost of living.
Going forward, the 4-H Shooting Sports Club kicks off Thursday, April 30 at the Todd County Gun Club, starting with a safety meeting at 5:30 p.m. McCuiston says the club offers trap shooting, archery, rifle and pistol – with a big focus on safety.
The club will meet every Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Friday, May 11, 4-H is partnering with Todd County Schools’ Dr. Lisa Petrie to host the Night of the Arts at TCCHS. The 4-H Performing Arts Troupe will present their show “Life’s a Journey,” featuring music and dance performances by the students. McCuiston adds the show is also open to other 4-H youth, who can sign up to perform solos or other acts. Individuals who wish to sign up should do so by Wednesday, May 6.
4-H will stay busy this spring, and McCuiston says the group has a full calendar beyond what’s already been mentioned.
