Terry G. Stokes, 93, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center with his son by his side.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
A native of Todd County, KY he was born January 1, 1933 the son of the late Everett Thomas Stokes and Cheatie Bonnie Dowdy Stokes. Mr. Stokes served his country as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Airforce. He retired from Terry Auto Sales and Body Shop as the owner and operator. He was a member of The Eagles Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and The American Legion. His family fondly recalls his perseverance in life for riding motorcycles, working on and fixing everything, and being a cancer survivor. Terry Stokes was an avid motorcyclist who spent every waking hour tinkering on his motorcycles in his garage.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Sherry Moss; his brother: Kenneth O. Stokes; his sister: Patricia Armstrong; and his granddaughter: Heather Moss.
He is survived by his son: Jerry (Tammy) Stokes of Hopkinsville, KY; his daughter: Yvonne (Elmer) Jones of Clarksville, TN; his grandchildren: Sara Dawn Stokes and Terry James Stokes; and his great-granddaughter: Kinzlee Alesha Davis.
