This Thursday, thirty-seven Todd Central FFA students traveled to Murray to compete in the Pennyrile Regional Speaking Day. These members have been working hard to prepare their speeches, and their effort paid off with seven members advancing to the state competition and the Quiz Bowl team advancing to the semifinals.
During the event, students competed in several different speaking categories related to agriculture. Each participant presented a prepared speech in front of judges and other students, showing their knowledge of the topic as well as their public speaking abilities.
Congratulations to Emma Chapman, who won first place in the region in the Creed competition, and Meredith Hampton, who also placed first with her goat and sheep speech.
Also advancing to state and placing second in the region for prepared public speaking were Rylann Griggs in nursery, Mallory Werner in fruit and vegetable, Will Tabor in beef, and Alexis Shackleford in small animal.
Overall, Regional Speaking Day was a successful and rewarding experience for the students who participated. It gave members the chance to practice their speaking skills, gain confidence, and share their hard work with others from across the region. The event showed the dedication of Todd Central FFA members and their commitment to improving their speaking and communication skills while representing their school well.
