Name Released In Guthrie Murder

Authorities have charged an Elkton man after a shooting on Springmont Circle in Guthrie that killed a Guthrie man on Sunday morning.

Kentucky State Police say they were called around 9 am to a shooting with one person hit, and found 24-year-old Evan Hall, who was shot at least once in the roadway.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they took 24-year-old Jerell Edmonds into custody after they arrived, and he was later charged with murder and fourth-degree assault.

Police say a second person was also assaulted by Edmonds during the altercation.

Police used a drone along with a machine to scan the crime scene while collecting all the evidence. A large portion of the road, along with three houses were taped off for several hours during the investigation.

Kentucky State Police investigated the shooting with the help of the Guthrie Police Department, Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Elkton Police Department, and the Todd County Coroner’s Office.
