Man Charged After Guthrie Shooting

Authorities have charged a man after a shooting on Springmont Circle in Guthrie that killed one person on Sunday morning.

Todd County emergency personnel say they were called around 9 am to a shooting with one person hit, and found a man who was shot at least once in the roadway.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they took 24-year-old Jerell Edmonds into custody after they arrived, and he was later charged with murder and fourth-degree assault.

Police used a drone along with a machine to scan the crime scene while collecting all the evidence. A large portion of the road, along with three houses were taped off for several hours during the investigation.

Kentucky State Police investigated the shooting with the help of the Guthrie Police Department, Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Elkton Police Department, and the Todd County Coroner’s Office.
