There is one opportunity left for farmers to complete their private pesticide applicators certification before crop season begins.
The pesticide certification course will be held Tuesday, March 10 from 9 a.m – noon at the Todd County Extension Office, located at 240 Pond River Road in Elkton.
Todd County Extension Ag Agent Traci Johnson says this is needed for anyone looking to purchase and use any pesticide that is restricted use. Certification will cover pesticide laws and safe use, and will also be an opportunity to talk about this past growing season and what farmers noticed.
Johnson shares winter is an ideal time for farmers to complete needed training and attend meetings so they have ample time to prepare. She notes there are many more farmers than usual who need to attend certification trainings due to a change in the rules from 2022-2023.
