Former Kentucky Attorney General and U.S. Senator hopeful Daniel Cameron has announced the formation of a Kentucky Agriculture Advisory Council as part of his campaign.
Cameron said the statewide group of farm leaders will help shape his agricultural policy agenda and ensure Kentucky farm families have a strong voice in Washington. He said the council will focus on growing the economic value of agriculture, protecting family farms and farm succession, expanding market access, strengthening farm income, and reducing federal overreach.
State Representative Ryan Bivens will serve as chair of the council. Bivens said Cameron is prepared to take Kentucky agriculture’s priorities to Washington and deliver results, adding that he believes Cameron can unite stakeholders and expand opportunities for the state’s agricultural economy.
The advisory group will also serve as the inaugural leadership team for the Farmers for Cameron Coalition and act as trusted advisors on key issues facing Kentucky’s agricultural community.
