WEKT New Voices: Addie Weatherford

Listeners may hear some new voices on WEKT as the station welcomes three Todd County Central High School students to the team, including Addie Weatherford.

The TCCHS junior has already been writing a few stories for WEKT, but says she is excited to be working with the station more this semester.

Weatherford wears a lot of hats at Todd Central: She’s student council president for the junior class, an FFA chairwoman, and member of FCS, Beta club, NHS and 4-H.

Weatherford doesn’t have much of an agriculture background, and she initially joined the ag extracurriculars because they would look good on a resume. Throughout her years in high school, Weatherford says the organizations have become so much more and they are groups she truly loves being part of.

She’s still trying to figure out exactly what she wants to study after high school, but ag has made the short list. Currently, Weatherford is planning on attending Murray State University to obtain a degree in nursing or something ag-related.

Throughout her time at WEKT the next few months, Weatherford is hoping to better not only her writing skills, but also her people skills. She also looks forward to getting out in the community, as she loves the people of Todd County.
