Todd County Library Celebrates Black History Month

The Todd County Public Library is celebrating Black History Month with some special programs and literature.

Library Director Amanda Hayes says throughout the month, the library is highlighting some of the great, lasting literature by African American icons.

click to download audioAdditionally, the library has free activity books for younger children, featuring brain games and historical facts, so they can study American history through the Black perspective.

For the rest of the month, the Todd County Public Library is also doing a Black History Month reading challenge.

Hayes invites the community to visit the public library and see all it has to offer. Although Black History Month may only be nationally recognized for one month, she adds the Todd County Library celebrates it all year long.
