
An Elkton man was charged with attempted murder after assaulting a man with a baseball bat at Elkton Greens Apartments on Wednesday morning.
Elkton Police say that at around 11 a.m., they were called for a 60-year-old man who was bleeding from the head and had obvious bone fractures to his body.
During the investigation, Police say they discovered 40-year-old Roy Arms the man’s neighbor had assaulted him with a wooden baseball bat after he confronted him about a theft.
The man was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment of severe injuries.
Arms reportedly admitted to trying to kill the man during the Investigation. Arms was arrested and charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, second-degree criminal mischief, public intoxication, and criminal littering.
Police were assisted by Todd County EMS and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.
