Unchained Memories, the clothing business Carter co-owns with her husband, focuses on streetwear clothing. Carter says the goal is to create clothing that’s comfortable and makes the wearer feel good.

When the farmers market is not in season, Carter says Unchained Memories does a lot of custom orders. Currently, she’s creating some custom pieces for local businesses in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Carter traveled to Todd County from Tennessee earlier this month to talk with WEKT about her business for Black History Month. To the business owner, Black History Month means Black excellence.
