Last week, the Elkton Rotary Club heard a unique story of transformation from local author Storm Shultz.
She shared her “whirlwind” journey from a pagan upbringing and college years as an “omnist” to her current life as a Christian and pastor’s wife.
The turning point came in a world religions class where she met her future husband, Michael. Despite their polar-opposite backgrounds, their connection eventually led Schultz to the faith and brought the couple to western Kentucky, where Michael now serves in the ministry.
Storm told Rotarians that at the age of seven, she loved telling stories to her brothers.
It wasn’t until after her 2017 marriage to Michael that Shultz’s love for literature evolved into a career. This period saw the birth of her first book—later retitled ‘Hey, Jude Carpenter’ — marking the true start of her journey as a published author.
While Shultz initially pursued the traditional publishing route, she eventually found that going independent was a better fit for her career and has published nine books.
Some of her other published titles include: ‘Meant to Bee,’ ‘joy – biblical encouragement during pregnancy after loss,’ and ‘Hear the Falling Snow.’
Looking ahead, Shultz has a new book slated for release later this year; the project, written two years ago, is now in its final editing stages. She is also planning a book specifically for mothers of children with spina bifida, inspired by her journey with her youngest son.
