Funeral Services for 87 year old Harry O. Todd of Cadiz will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon at King’s Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY with military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at King’s Funeral Home.

Harry O. Todd was born in Earlington, KY on November 9, 1938 to James E. Todd and Willie S. Todd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Ozetta Stokes Todd; step daughter, Joy Bitner and his sister, Jociene Rice.
He passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Mercy Lourdes Health in Paducah, KY.
Harry was a former High School Basketball star at Earlington having earned All-State boys’ basketball honors three consecutive years culminating into Kentucky Mr. Basketball in 1958. The 6-foot-8 standout finished as the state’s all-time leading career rebounder. He has been inducted into five separate basketball Halls of Fame. He was also the founder and first president of the Kentucky Mr. Basketball Fraternity. He was selected as the recipient of the Ralph Beard Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
Harry served our country in the Army for 30 years and retired in 1991 as The Garrison Command Sergeant Major at Ft. Campbell, KY. He is a highly decorated combat veteran. His award and decorations are many numbering in the 50’s including Silver Star, Bronze Star (with V Device), Bronze Star (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters) and The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm (individual award). He is Airborne as well as Air Assault Qualified and had been awarded the Combat Infantry’s Badge as well as the Expert Rifleman’s and Pistol Badge. In the fall of 2025, and at the recommendation of close friends, Chappell Wilson and Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries, was nominated, and then selected, for the Kentucky Veterans’ Hall of Fame, becoming the first resident of Trigg County to receive the honor.
After Retirement he served twelve years as the Kentucky Representative on the Retirees Services Council for Kentucky & Tennessee. He also was a State Vice President of the Noncommissioned Officers Association for Kentucky, was elected National President of the
101st Airborne Division Association in 1991 and served a two-year term.
He was employed as the Executive Director of the Cadiz/Trigg Co. Tourist Commission from 1991-1998. He was the overseer of the Boat Haven Marina and Resort for the Hayes Family in 1999 & 2000.
He graduated from the Advanced Lay Speaker Course of The Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in 2010. He was a graduate of the Ministerial Licensing School at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY. Harry was appointed the Pastor of Paradise United Methodist Church in Livingston Co., KY in 2012 and later served as Pastor of Herndon Methodist Church and a member of the Cadiz Methodist Church.
